“Does this microphone require you to hold down a button in order to talk into it. We ordered this microphone to go with a car stereo with Bluetooth, to supplement the inadequate built-in microphone. Can't be holding down a button to talk.”

Well, yes and no. If you mean to talk to someone on the phone and all of that, then no. If you would like to quickly activate a voice assistant, then you only hold the little phone button on the F2 Pro until your voice assistant speaks up or gives you your usual audio cue to let you know that it's listening.
