I had "Compustart auto remote start" installed in my 2019 Toyota Sienna with push button start. They did not install any Sienna "keys". In fact I can remote start car with either the Compustart remote (has one) or I can use either of my Sienna remote devices to start car.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe both keys have to be factory keys and it is so if you use either key they register to the system so that only those keys can be used to insert into the ignition after remote start is accomplished. When they are registered with the module and you get in the car after remote starting it you have to insert the key and turn it to the fillAccesory position, then usually step on the brake and then drive. This prevents someone with a non factory homemade key from stealing your car? I have both keys in my possession and I think that the installing of another key in the dash is not factual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They only need to use your key if they are not using one of the components which cost extra enless its part of a package deal.
