“Is anyone else getting a higher than normal drain on their car battery from using this remote start? My car battery (new) gets drained in about 5 days and won't start.”

There will be some additional current draw with an aftermarket remote start, but it shouldn't affect the vehicle that much. If you have a Drone module, or a Compustar security add-on, the draw will increase. The LED that flashes on the antenna can be disabled in programming, if you want to further reduce the current draw. The draw can be measured by a technician if you think it is excessive.
