• They will program the keyfob to your car. You will not have to carry two keyfobs.

• My original key fob was programmed to work with the remote start. I'm not sure if it would work with any key fob.

• For my 19 Tacoma, they left my original key fob alone, e.g., you can use either. But the new fob does start, stop, lock, unlock, and open doors if your vehicle is equipped. As far as just programming your original, I don’t know. If so, I doubt you would get the 3000 feet range.
