Best Buy tech will program the remote start kit to work with the original/factory key fob. You are simply using your Mazda remote key by press lock door 3 times and car will start or 3 times to shutoff the engine on 2016 CX-5. Basically, you do not need to carry the remote start key fob (2 ways or 1 way) but always need to carry your Mazda key fob.

Please try again later.I don't know if works with your car but with my vehicle works great the key fobs now working also as remote start for my vehicle works like manufacturing remote start, one little inconvenience is when I open the door the car turned off. Also not need for reprogramming hope this helps
