You would have 2 key fobs. I have a Toyota Highlander that does the same things. I purchased this remote starter and have 2 key fobs. With my Toyota, the remote starters starts the car and keeps the car running, until I open the car door. It's a security feature that prevents the car from being stolen. The Toyota key fob is required to restart the car so I can drive off.
