Remote starters are typically rather universal. So assuming both of the vehicles are compatible, you can technically uninstall it from one and install it in a different vehicle. However, you will probably need to pay for this service. The future new vehicle will likely require some different harnesses and such which will also cost more money. Depending on those costs, and price at the time of a new unit you will have to decide if the cost of a new remote starter or using the old is worth it. Who knows, having the remote starter in the original vehicle might make it worth more in trade or private sale where it just makes sense to leave it in there.
