“Is the app a necessity to start the vehicle or can I just buy the product & use the remote that comes with it?? The app seems like a hassle if it doesn’t work at times so will the remote still work regardless of the app??”

The App is actually fantastic, personally I haven’t had any issues with it. But no you don’t need the app to start your car. You can use the remote only. But if you don’t want the app functionality I would recommend looking at a cheaper option as you would be paying more for the LTE and app functions with this unit.
