The manufacturer warranty would not cover accidental damage (Ex. your cat knocking it off a table and cracking the screen). If you purchased an extended warranty through the Geek Squad/Best Buy called Geek Squad Protection with ADH (Accidental Damage from Handling) it would be covered.
