Could be that you received one out of a bad batch. Try taking it back to your store to see if they can exchange it for you under the manufacturer warranty. I've been using mine for about 6 months now and I haven't had a problem yet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Was never a big fan of the Conair brand of irons. (1) If you still have this model, what type of water are you using. DO NOT use tap water. (2) The Rowenta Professional Iron Model: DW8061 is one of the best irons on the market. I know it costs a little bit more, but it is worth it. The steam feature is awesome. I like to have a freshly pressed shirt in the morning before I go to work.
