“Hello I am looking to buy a stand for my 85 inch Sony tv. However the Sony tv stand dept is 18 inch where as the top stand on this is only 17 inch. I am reading some customers here saying they use for 85 inch tv but I am wondering how?”

One Inch should not make a difference for a Quality stand. Operative word is Quality.
