This cable is for the 30series of cards. It will not work for the 40series.

Hi,

Yes, there is a difference. The 12VHPWR cable is designed for RTX 40 Series GPUs, which require the sense pins so the mentioned GPUs are able to determine maximum available power. This power cable (CP-8920274) is designed for RTX 30 Series GPUs and should not be used for RTX 40 Series GPUs whatsoever.
