No. This centers the ssd drive in the tray so it will not line up to the normal location of where the sata connectors are typically located. This part is not officially hot swappable, but your motherboard determines if drives can be hot swapped, not the drive or drive caddy.

yes it will fit into 3.5 caddy. Whether there are SATA connectors and the bracket your using for 2.5 to 3.5 SATA SSD bracket or not depends on the computer, or you might have to buy them separately. As far as being "hot swappable"....you need screws that usually comes with bracket to keep it stable unless you have a special modified ( non "normal") HDD bay.

I'm afraid that for your purposes you may want to go with a different adapter, this adapter is to do just what the title says and use two 2.5" SSDs on the same bracket and put in a 3.5" slot.
