• It’s not detachable but it does move up and down so you don’t have to have it on and use it.

• It’s not, it’s a simple flip up design. Once flipped up it shuts all microphone functions off, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

• Hello timmy, The microphone is permanently attached via a raiseable arm. You can can raise the mic boom up so it's out of the way if you prefer not to use it. -Brian
