“I already have another brand's controller and it's set of fans occupying that 9 pin header on the motherboard. Is there another way to configure this, and can I get away with plugging the pump into one of the available 9 pin slots on the conroller?”

You can use a USB header splitter. See the picture

Please try again later.I wouldn't, like its not even compatability with the lower corsair node from the 3 120 sp pro fans because it made my new 100i short out rgb related. if you only have one 2.0 port I STRONGLY URGE you to pick 1! then look up 2.0usb to 9pin plug on google , you will know what it is when you see it. it ran me 5 bucks and it works.
