Hi TBone, That's correct, you would want to purchase 2 Commander Core XT's as you exceed the 6 fans that each unit can support. Our iCUE software can support those fan types if you're looking at the RGB versions, SP, QL, LL and ML. If you'd like to learn more about these fans, our software, or would like assistance with setup or installation, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We'd be more than happy to assist you directly: support.corsair.com -Brian
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you bought a 3 pack of fans it should’ve come with a rgb hub that can control rgb for 6 fans. You could then plug that into rgb header on core xt, plug remaining 4 rgb cables into core. For fan power plug 6 into core xt, rest into fan headers on MB. Two core xts might be more elegant but not absolutely necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have 10 fans, and you want to hook them up and control them through iCue, then yes, you need to purchase two of these controllers. As far as the different types of fans (SP, QL, LL, and ML), they all work with iCue as long as you get the RGB versions.
