“Is there anyway to just buy the backplate for the CPU cooler, I had to return my previous motherboard and it completely slipped my mind to take off the backplate.”

I'd recommend checking eBay for it, doubt a retailer would be willing to sell just one part, or you could reach out to CORSAIR and see if they can send you a spare since its just one part. Good luck!
