“Can I hook up two power cables to the GPU for the two 8 pin power connectors? When I hooked up with two cables the GPU said I had to hook it up with the correct cable. It finally worked using ONE cable that had Two 8 pin plugs on it for the GPU.”

I just bought the RM 1000X PSU. i use two sep cables 1 Eight Pin and 1 Six Pin. No issues. Make sure your using the correct cables from you power supply ie... GPU / VGA or mine i used 2 PCIe no problems.

Please try again later.I'm using two separate power cables to the gpu and heard that was recommended and not to use one single power cable with the splitter to share on the gpu ( I was told that it'll work using one cable but may not get the max power performance under heavy loads or during game play as it will need to pull more power during that time amd if it doesn't have that power it will lose performance ). Also use only the cable that it came with or the same brand if your going to add another cable. Not all cables are compatible and can mess up your psu or even you motherboard.
