Not sure about 64gb, but running 32gb on the ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI motherboard (DIMM A2|B2) seems buggy if the BIOS memory settings are other than Auto. The PC will not post if XMP is enabled at least for me it doesn't post. Hoping for a motherboard update past BIOS 703 will fix this issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, It would be recommended to only have two modules installed if you would like to run XMP. Considering that motherboard has a dual channel memory architecture, running two memory modules per channel would result in reduced memory speeds. The issue with some XMP profiles, is the often can unintentionally undervolt the DIMMS, causing a kernel power panic. Since I manually adjusted the voltage, she's been running stable at rated speed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have 4 slots on the motherboard, you have be able to put 4 SIMM. Best is to have the same brand and same model for all 4 SIMM. Just a note about Asus, you will need to change the speed settings for the SIMM on the motherboard from Auto to whatever the speed for the DDR. In this case it should be set at 5600MHz. You can check the running speed on the SIMM by opening Task Manager in Windows and select performance. Then go to memory so that you can see what speed your motherboard is running the memory speed at. Chances are you will need to manually tune the speed.
