  • QuestionHello I was wondering if the CAS latency of this ddr5 ram is actually 64, is this a typo? On Corsair's website there is no ddr5 ram with a CAS latency of 64. The first number of the latency is 30.

    • Answer Be aware that the SKU for this item is currently mixed up with a 32GB 6000 CL36 RGB set that is being sent out to some or all people who order this particular 64GB memory set from Best Buy. A few weeks ago I ordered (2 ) of these 64GB non-RGB sets & received (2) 32GB RGB sets instead. I then had customer service send me replacements & they sent me (2) wrong 32GB sets also. I drove an hour both ways to our closest Best Buy yesterday & then again today (so yes two separate trips) to try to figure out some sort of solution. The local Best Buy supervisor (Robbie) who tried to help me is absolutely great. He spent a lot of time with me trying to get the right people on the phone with Best Buy HQ to tell him how to handle this thru their computerized return / exchange system. One idea he had which makes perfect sense was to simply sell me a different but roughly equivalent Corsair 64GB set & then issue me in store credit for the purchase price difference. The main problem is that DRAM prices are completely insane right now so obviously I want the RAM I ordered at the price I paid a few weeks ago (less than half the cost of the same set now). But ultimately he is hamstrung by corporate policies that don’t allow local store managers to do anything ‘outside the box’ to help customers. So after spending hours waiting for Best Buy corporate to tell us they can’t help me at all, our only option was to return all (4) incorrect 32GB sets before the return window expired & then order (2) more replacement 64GB sets & cross our fingers that they’ve fixed the screwed up SKU on the warehouse side by now. I’m not holding my breathe. My guess is I’ll be receiving (2) more of the wrong 32GB sets again. But it was worth a shot to give it one more try since RAM prices are completely bonkers now.
