Wireless isn't necessarily "Wi-Fi"; These headphones are Wireless with a dongle. The dongle the device comes with is how the headphones communicate with your PC. You can plug this dongle directly into your PC. For instances where your PC is perhaps tucked away or harder to get at, the dock (with a fairly long cable), allows the dongle to be in a removed place from your PC. (eg. Computer behind a desk; dongle on desktop). The dongle itself does require USB to connect.
