To keep the food warm or at desired temperature, I find it best to plug it in.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I take my food from the refrigerator put it in the crockpot, I take the grey cover off when I get to work I plug it in for about 2 - 3 hours and it’s ready for lunch. No sense heating it up prior, also I don’t use it as a thermos.
