Hello, thanks for getting in touch, This external SSD is compatible with any laptop that is having a USB port. If you have a USB A port, you'll need a USB C to A cable. Regarding the windows S mode, in S-mode windows will only allow apps from the Microsoft store however you should be able to access the USB drive using file explorer.
