mine had that smell the first time cooking in it, like most do. I recommend running it for 15/20 minutes when you first get it to bake off those chemical smells. After that there was no smell with mine.

We havent noticed any. Hers had no chemical taste to the food prepared.

Haven't used the one purchased, but when use the one at work, there is a slight smell, but not in the taste.

you can always add chemicals to get that fresh weird flavor if that's what you want
