There are preset buttons but I only use the time and temperature and the advice of the Internet to get the right settings. I have it and I don't find that it lacks anything I want or need. If you are planning to make pounds upon pounds of jerky, get one of the models that looks like am oven. This is my second air fryer. I loved my first one but this one is even better and much easier to clean.
