The rack come forward a little 
and stops when you open door.
I’m had of hearing and can hear the ding when toast is fine and the oven turns off on the toast setting.

Yes, the rack pulls part way out when you open the door so you don't burn your hand reaching in for your toast. 
The bell is quite loud. You won't hear it if you are in the shower, but you can hear it from another room.

The rack pulls out if it’s on the top. The door has a stationary pull out piece that works on the rack if it is positioned on the top. 
The ding is loud enough for me to hear it but not annoying. This is our second Cuisinart toaster oven. I love the way you clean up with a little pull out drawer on the bottom.

Yes door opens and rack comes out. Great safety feature. Haven’t used it for toast yet.
