I leave it under the cabinet with 2” above clearance & open on sides when I’m using it as a toaster. I pull it forward when using the oven or air fryer so that about 4” of the oven is still under the cabinet and open on the sides & back. The heat generated by the oven may be enough to react with the finish on the cabinets. We normally are in the room when it’s being used. That being said, I recommend that you follow the manufacturer’s directions, unless you decide for yourself to try otherwise.
