• A:Answer I believe this has to do with wether you are grinding or turn off grind and use pre ground coffee.

Q: QuestionIs there a way to adjust the amount of beans it will grind per number of cups selected? I'm using the lowest Strength option but the coffee is stronger than I'm used to. I'm now putting in extra water to compensate - i.e. 6 cups of water for a 4 grind.

• A:Answer It sounds like you're already doing it by adjusting the strength, maybe change the coffee you're using to a lighter roast? If not I would just add more water and keep it on the lowest strength when grinding

Q: QuestionThe grinder works but started not to fill the hopper for appropriate amounts coffee. I emptied the coffee beans and tipped the coffee maker upside down so if there was a clog maybe it would clear. IT DID NOT. Grinder works each time.

• A:Answer I’m having the same problem. Cuisinart recommended clearing the hopper of beans and grinding white rice to unclog the grinder of any oils or residue. While this did remove some build up for me it didn’t fix it and they are now replacing it. Btw the replacement is on a 4 week back order.

• A:Answer Cuisinart recommended to grind white rice to unclog the grinder of any oils and residue. I did it several times and it did clean some but now all. It’s worth a shot before replacing. In my case it was under warranty but on a 4 week back order

• A:Answer There's a version of the coffee maker that brews into a thermal carafe but it is more expensive. I don't think you could use that carafe on this unit due to the heating element.

Q: QuestionWhy does it take so long to brew? It grinds the beans than it starts brewing than it beeps five times than it takes forever for the 10 cups to finish brewing. I have cleaned it and changed the filter several times and it still does the same thing.

• A:Answer It might be your coffee is ground too fine. Make sure you use beans to grind and perhaps don’t grind too strong. Hope that works

• A:Answer I had that a time or two when trying to grind beans and using a paper filter. When I took the paper filter out it worked fine.

• A:Answer If you are using Ground Coffee,...I put in enough for 3 cups. Maybe you could do 1 or 2, but I know it will do 3. If you are using beans, 4 is the minimum.
