The vents are on the back side. There is an even 7/8” raised, equal lip (edge) all the way around so the surface would not be close to flush with countertop. It would be raised 7/8” above. The vent location at the back starts immediately below the lip so probably wouldn’t have room to vent if installed as a drop-in.
