• No, this uses the Nespresso capsules or other compatible capsules that are Nespresso compatible. Word of warning though, a lot of the generic brands have problems if they are plastic. Plastic capsules require the machine to crush the end versus puncture it like you would see with the Nespresso aluminum body capsule. Most of the plastic capsules either fail to crush or break resulting in most of the water leaking past the capsule. For a 4oz brew the off-brand capsules would leak 3oz or more past the capsule into the used capsule collection box. I've literally seen only a couple of drops in the cup when it was finished because so much water leaked past. I've only had good luck with Nespresso and Lavazza branded capsules. The Lavazza having a plastic body but foil covering both ends so no crushing of the capsule.
