• A:Answer It does not come completely apart, but the blade comes off. In the center of the blade is a little push button that allows you to detach it. The safety guard also comes off. Everything else is attached, but easy to clean. The specs say slices to 1/2 inch thickness, but i think that is a misprint. It is more like 1 and 1/2 inch thickness.
