You could possibly do a couple batches back to back. The problem is the machine will stop freezing once the inner bowl begins to thaw and it must be frozen at least overnight prior to uses I've found.

It takes about twenty minutes to make a batch of ice cream so the drum starts unfreezing. I'd say at least one hour. But you can premake the ice cream and keep it in sealed food containers. We are able to eat ours for a few days after.
