I think you're doing it right - especially in terms of this particular grinder as the lid on the bean hopper is anything BUT airtight and would therefore definitely lessen the shelf life/freshness of the beans.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you can do it either way. Whatever your preference is. I fill the hopper and use as needed. It usually lasts me 3 to 4 days and I have not noticed a difference in the freshness of the coffee.
