It filters the electricity to prevent surges (dangerous spicke in electricty). It contains a battery that will provide power for a limited amount of time should your electricity go out.

This unit is ready to use right away, but we recommend plugging it in and allowing it to charge for about 8 hours for a full battery charge. In case of a power outage, it will seamlessly switch to battery backup, providing continuous power. This allows you to safely shut down any connected devices until utility power is restored, at which point it will automatically switch back to line mode.
