• This is very quiet. I haven't noticed any noise at all. The only time my UPS has a noise is when the battery gets old and needs to be replaced (you can normally buy a replacement battery on line or at Home Depot (not expensive at all).

• When operating on utility power, there should be no noticeable noise. When operating on battery, if the alarm is enabled, it will beep to tell you its on battery. You can mute the alarm if you do not wish to hear it. Also, there is a small fan that runs when its operating on battery, but you will not hear it unless you place your ear next to the unit.
