1) Talk to DigiKey - they have every electronic item 2) There is no free power. Most cars have a 10 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter. Meaning 12V * 10A = 120 watts if inverter was 100% efficient. So if your AC device takes more than like 80 watts then you need something larger. Trucks may have a larger fuse for the lighter socket

They're extremely helpful. Also, might try calling the manufacturer and asking them. Sounds like whatever was plugged in may have pulled too much power? I had to do some research as I was having that issue with my computers and previous inverters until I acquired this one.
