My unit is new, so I haven't done this yet. But I have replaced the battery in other UPS units. What you really need to do is take the battery out (this unit has a replaceable battery) and get the voltage/amperage that is printed on the battery. It is also very important that you measure the dimensions of the battery. Then go looking online. I have found the same battery (voltage/amperage) but with slightly larger dimensions, like a 1/4 to 1/2 inch. That makes all the difference as the compartment of your UPS dictates the size of the battery. And most UPS units use a sealed lead/acid battery. Hope that helps.
