Half of it still worked (just the surge side) for me, useless in my opinion. I tried a new battery for $20 and the new battery failed because of the electronics inside were malfunctioning so why would I trust it to work for surge protection. Bought a new APC unit and I'm good now for another 5 years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Mark, The 4 outlets that are labelled surge only will continue to provide pass through power and surge protection. The 4 battery outlets require a battery to operate. CyberPower does not make a replacement battery for this particular unit. If you wish to have battery backup, we would recommend replacing the unit if you are not within the warranty period. Thank you for submitting your question!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will still provide surge protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you are correct that this should still work as a surge protector. However, I have taken a direct hit from a lightening strike. The batteries in my big unit were destroyed. I would recommend you buy a replacement battery and keep your important items connected to the battery side if possible. All the equipment connected to surge only was ruined. Hope this helps. My area has a local battery shop that will even replace them for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.smiling i would test it and see if it can still work as a surge protector even if the battery section has died.. if possible somehow get it tested.. An if you are worried about the battery section then get another one..
