“The specs say Half Load Max Run Time is 7.5 min and Full Load Max Run Time is 2 min, but the Maximum Battery Life is 8 hours. I find it hard to believe that the 7.5 and 2 min. could be accurate. Help! Are these really correct? What are the real numbers?”

I see no reason to doubt those numbers. A personal UPS like this is designed to keep powering devices during a power outage for just a few minutes, which is long enough to either wait out the outage or power off your equipment safely (if the outage lasts a while). The less load you have connected, the longer the power will stay on. I use mine to power a home theater (plasma TV, receiver, streaming boxes, game system), and they all stayed on for around a two minute outage. I haven't had a long one yet to test the exact time. Note, the max time of 8 hours would be if you unplugged the UPS and had nothing connected to it.
