Yes, this unit is designed to handle these type of power events. This model has Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) and is able to handle small drops in voltage without having to switch to battery. The AVR will increase the voltage back to a steady level your equipment can continue to operate on. If the voltage dips exceed the AVR range, it will switch to battery to maintain stable power. If the power events are related to the input frequency of the power and the variations go outside of the normal operating specification, the UPS will switch to battery to maintain consistent power.

I wouldn't use it for an expensive television or computer monitor. It works great for my PC when I have brief power interruptions.
