“I have an ASUS FHD Free Sync as my main monitor, and am trying to plug in an HP basic monitor as well. It will not detect the HP monitor. Is it an issue with the GPU? i have tried Display port and DVI with display port adapter.”

The Ryzen 3 is not an APU and using the mainboard monitor port might require changing the BIOS start there for tinkering. As far as splitting from the aftermarket GPU, AMD drivers have setting that you might need to enable.
