hdmi needs to be connected to graphic card port, And when I set mine up, monitor was on but blank-black didn't seem to be working. Took forever to fiugre out, it was an easy fix. Need to press buttons on monitor(tv in your case) one of them allows you to tell monitor/tv which connection port you are using, switch it hdmi and should be good to go. easy as that! If you use the motherboard port, i think you need to go into bios to activate it(because graphics on graphic card is better. plugging it into motherboard, tries to use motherboard graphics which was disabled when graphic card is installed so you need to reactivate it (don't-use graphic card port!)
