Can the led stay at one solid color? null

It should. here's a button on the bottom of the top piece at the right (there are two of them - use a good light to find the one with a circle surrounded by dots). Each press will change the LEDs to the next color. Pick the one you like. (The power button will be the same color as the color you choose for the LEDs.)
