The socket type of this computer is AMD AM3+ socket however if you want to upgrade the CPU you will need to make sure you are buying a CPU with the motherboard and that your power supply unit can handle the upgrade. You will need to check with the motherboard manufacturer to determine which AM3+ CPU's will be compatible with the motherboard. Please note that we do not provide support for upgrades and we recommend to keep the original hardware for warranty purposes.
