“Do you need a special cable for the monitor? I can't get it to work with the vga.”

• I'm pretty sure you do. To use your monitor it must be connected to the graphics card, which has an hdmi, dvi, and another type of input that is unknown to me. For now I am using the hdmi, but I did buy a vga to dvi adapter on amazon for future use.
