Any cpu that uses the same socket is compatible. Am3+ socket is what this motherboard requires. I recommend upgrading to the 8350 or the 6350. They're both pretty cheap atm. Also you should know that this motherboard is not compatible with the new ryzen cpu's. Those require am4 sockets.
