“I just bought this as my first gaming PC and at startup it is really loud and almost has like a little grind to it. Is this normal? It only lasts 10-30 seconds and goes away by the time it gets to windows.”

Yes this is normal. Upon startup, you will hear all the fans and components kicking in... if you hear a prolonged sound or it gets louder and does not stop then it is time to let the geek squad check it out..... I am confident what you are hearing is normal.... Enjoy!!

It's a bit loud due to the fan being directly attached you can solve that problem easily with YouTube or google. Startups are usually a tad bit noisy but if it's grinding as in like metals then there might be something off.
