“I've read that you need to install a network adapter to connect to Wi-Fi. The specs say it has 2 PCI-E x1 slots and 1 PCI-E x16 slot. Does that mean one of them is open for a wireless network adapter card? If so, which? Please help & thanks!”

Only the 2 PCI-e x1 slots will be available for use as the PCI-e x16 slot will be used by the GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. In general wireless network cards will always be PCI-e x1 otherwise can be used in any PCI-e slot available (x1, x4, x16).
