Hi Waffle, i recently bought my first microphone and also had this problem. If this has already been answered than i'm sorry to bug you. When i got my microphone and plugged it in, my computer automatically set both the input AND output devices to the microphone. Go to settings > system > sound then change the output device to the speakers that have been plugged in. Hope this helps
