Thank you for reaching out to us TyMac. The best way to purchase more RAM for the PC would be to look up the serial number on the side of the RAM online and purchase the exact same stick. It is always recommended that you have matching sticks of RAM inside your PC to avoid incompatibility issues. If you have any further questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to give our tech support agents a call for any assistance; we're always happy to help. RAM is where programs and games, including the operating system, are loaded on Start Up. Increases in RAM can significantly improve the performance of your PC. This model when purchased with 8GB RAM, had 3 remaining slots to add an additional 24GB for a total of 32GB RAM. Storage is your SSD and HDD, both of which are also upgradable. SSD's are typically smaller, but they have no moving parts and provide very fast boot time, and program start times. HDD's have spinning parts with an arm that must move back and forth to read the drive, and just cannot match the speeds of an SSD. However, when you pair the two, you end up with fast boot times and plenty of drive space for storage. If storage is what you need, you can look through your Programs List and uninstall some of the things you do not need, such as the Trial Microsoft Office installation. This will free up some of your SSD space. I also found that when downloading STEAM games, you are given the option where to save/install them, so I choose the 2TB HDD to save those large 50GB or larger installs, leaving my SSD for the OS and the important stuff.
